Making Favourable Conditions

Chapter 2

Making the Favourable Conditions.

To achieve highest of life,we have to make favourable conditions within us and around us.
Small Example,You know 'Seed Germination and Dormancy', the water, soil, environment are necessary for the seed germination from the dormant state of seed, when the seed touches to the soil with the water in favourable environment at certain days the node on the seed is formed and the plant will exposes and later may into tree.
On same way to achieve the highest of life,or highest of our existence,it is necessary to make favourable conditions.making Awareness in mind and body, ability to make awareness at different areas of mind is easy with pre existing favourable conditions.
Which are favourable conditions that one should make?
Living with nature, synchronization with nature, incarnation of natural laws, logical and consistent ideal daily routine, positiveness, knowledge, spiritual practices, etc.
The knowledge gaining is very important, first gain the knowledge, then plan. Don't plan first for future execution, first gain knowledge, don't make source of knowledge conditionally,it is always be a unconditional.
Makes the friends who gives the knowledge, take a guidance from teachers and the learn from the past experiences.learns from the books.

Maharshi Patanjali's Yog Sutra

Ashtanga yoga from Patanjali's Yog Sutra

Ashta + anga” is Ashtanga. “Ashta” means Eight and “Anga” is limbs so it means Eight Limb path. Ashtanga yoga is based on Yoga Philosophy of Patanjali
The ashtang Yog of the from the Patanjali's Yog Sutra will helps in the making favourable conditions at different areas of mind and body to make awareness.
These are as follows

Yama  (five abstentions)

The first limb consists of a set of ethics, which ensures that the yogi interacts in a harmonious way with the surrounding community.

The ethical precepts are not to harm others, to be truthful, not to steal, to engage in intercourse only with one`s partner and to abstain from greed.

Niyama  (Five Observances)

The second limb consists of observances, which ensure that body and mind are not polluted once they have been purified. Purification in yoga has nothing to do with Puritanism. Rather it refers to the propensity of the body/mind.

Stain ability is the propensity of the body and mind to take on a conditioning or imprint from the environment. The observances are physical and mental cleanliness, contentment, simplicity, study of sacred texts and acceptance of the existence of the Supreme Being. The first two limbs are initially implement eel from the outside, and they form a platform from which practice is undertaken, once we are established in yoga they become our second nature: they will arise naturally
.

Asana Discipline of the body:

rules and postures to keep it disease – free and for preserving vital energy. Correct postures are a physical aid to meditation, for they control the limbs and nervous system and prevent them from producing disturbances.

Many obstacles to knowing one`s true nature are manifested in the body, for example disease, sluggishness and dullness. The body profoundly influences and it in bad condition impinges on the functioning of mind and intellect.

Through the practice of yoga asanas the body is made strong and light like the body of a “Lion”. Only then it will provide the ideal vehicle on the path of yoga.

As the yoga sutra explains, every thought, emotion and experience leaves a subconscious imprint (Sanskara) in the mind.

Pranayama

Control of breath beneficial to health, steadies the body and is highly conducive to the concentration of the mind.

Prana is the life force, also referred to as the inner breath. Pranayama means extension of prana.

The pulsating or oscillating of prana happens simultaneously with the movements of the mind (Chittavritti). The practice of pranayama is the study and exercise of one`s breath to a point where it is appeased and does not agitate the mind.

Pratyahara

Withdrawal of senses from their external objects, in Vinyasa Yoga, sense withdrawal is practiced through drishti- focal point. Instead of looking around while practicing asana, which leads to the senses reaching out we stay internal by turning our gale towards prescribed locations, these are: towards the nose

Towards the centre of the forehead (third eye)
Towards the navel,
Towards the fingertips,
Towards the toes,
Towards the side, towards the thumb upwards

Dharana

Concentration of the chitta upon a physical object, such as a flame, the midpoint of the eyebrows, this is used in meditation, the training of concentration enables us to stay focused or whatever object us to stay focused on whatever object is chosen.

First, simple objects are selected which in turn prepare us for the ultimate object, formless consciousness which is nothing but pure awareness.

Dhayana

Meditation means to rest, uninfluenced, between the extremes of the mind and suddenly just be instead of becoming. The difference between this and the previous limb is that in concentration, there is a conscious effort to exclude all thoughts that are not relevant to our choose object. Typical objects choose are the inner sound, the breath the body.

Samadhi

Oneness with the object of meditation, there is no distinction between act of meditation and the object of meditation.

Samadhi is the highest form of yoga there is two kinds objective and objective less. Objective Samadhi is when the mind for the first time, clear reflects faithfully what it is directed at and does not just produce anothersimulationofreality.
Objectless Samadhi is the highest form of yoga. It does not depend on an object but rather witnessing subject or awareness which is our true nature is revealed.

Role of guru (Teacher) in our life for making favourable conditions.

From above, making favourable conditions to achieve the highest of life, The role of guru is at the top.
What is guru-tatvam?
Guru tattva is the guru essence or the divine principle within. The term comes from the Sanskrit, guru, meaning “teacher” or “master,” and tattva, meaning “principle,” “essence,” “reality” or “truth.” The guru can also be described as “one who brings awareness,” so guru tattva is the essence of the bringer of awareness or higher knowledge.
One of the aphorism from the Vedas will says..

oṁ ajñāna-timirāndhasya
jñānāñjana-śalākayā
cakṣur unmīlitaṁ yena
tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ

We all are blinded with the darkness of ignorance, according to this aphorism, their is only one disease, which is 'ajñāna'  Ignorance, guru comes and apply the ointment jñānāñjana(in the form of knowledge) and opens our eyes.
Sant Dnyaneshwar (1275-1296 Maharashtra)
writes about guru "Guru vin Anubhav Kaisa kale"
Without Guru, how can one perceive the Divine Experience ?

Guru and Shishya (Teacher and his disciples)

From above discussion, the philosophical point of view, the knowledge and teaching process in the ancient India is very different as in modern India, ancient gurus producing the principle based ideal candidates, the knowledge of Vedas and Upnishada is given by the gurus or Maharishi,They creating the favourable conditions in their disciples, their are such gurus also with as today with somewhat modern thinking,it also necessary !

Dhyan moolam Guru murti, pooja moolam Guru padam
Mantra moolam Guru vakyam, moksha moolam Guru kripa
From the above sloka one can understand, what is the highest of the life of a shishya. That is, the centre of dhyan for a shishya is the form of his/her Guru, all the pilgrimages are made by the shishya at the feet of the Guru; Guru’s every word is a mantra for the shishya and he/she attains moksha(Liberation )by the grace of the Guru.

The Shankaracharya in the Guruashtakam says,

shareeram suroopam thatha vaa kalatram,
yasascharu chitram dhanam meru tulyam,
manasche na lagnam guro ranghri padme,
tatah kim, tatah kim, tatah kim, tatah kim

Body is handsome, wife is attractive, fame spread far and wide, wealth enormous and stable like Mount Meru; but of what consequence are all these, if the mind is not riveted in devotion to the lotus feet of Guru? Really of what use is all this, what use, what use?

What does affect you ?

I'm saying both point of view either in past or in future.
The past unresolved emotional experience and emotional attachment of that experiences will affects you, in present conditions and future also,

look ! we react or respond on the basis of our past experiences and how does we treated at that time.but remains on the same sphere is not good enough, because sometimes 'may be' you get good experience on certain situation which rather ordinary behaviour. The unresolved emotional experiences may obstruct the flow to favourable conditions to achieve the highest.

Need for Favourable conditions..

For the Sadhna (Practice),In the different areas of life like students in study, professional person in his work, the need of making favourable conditions means make a mind ready to work with full of pure consciousness,In the day to day life we are exposing and interacting with lots of things, these are making a chaotic ideas and thoughts in our mind,by practicing how to eliminate these kind of thoughts and how to make concentration on the things which are necessary at perticular time, this is the making favourable conditions and getting ready to mind work.

Here I am adding one more thing on Time Management, it is very necessary for the students, where should you invest your time ? it is a time, which never comes back,so it should be wisely spended. avoid that kind of communication always where the outcome will be zero or absence of any thought. Spend our time in to get something new, which you don't know, The life of students must like enthusiastic to learn something new in every day. The meaning of Vidhyarthi (Students) is one who enthusiastic in a way to gain the knowledge.

The knowledge of Vedas and Upnishada and ancient Indian scriptures will also necessary for making the favourable conditions,If you know the concepts of philosophy, at every situation of life your reaction always goes through that philosophical filters where the concepts of philosophy are the nets. Your prospective of the looking towards the things will changed, the thought process will begins to develop.

The abstinence from the our old treasure of knowledge makes the young generation towards the inhuman,Immoral things, that happening in the every day,The materialism the subjective or objective, peoples thinking also becomes more materialistic.
The Compassion, polite, respectfulness, Love,Care,Integrity, honesty, positive attitude, etc. are the qualities of ideal man, imbibing these qualities makes the favourable conditions in the achievement of highest of life.

The way of living on such way brings real happi ness more at the mental level(Samadhan) than material (objective happiness) in your life,

This is second chapter of the series about making favourable conditions in different areas, stopping here ! this dedicated to my gurus who are backbone and Inspiration of me always.
